I've found that one of the greatest benefits to pursuing a diverse education is that it enables me to teach a wide variety of different subjects. As a student, I had to constantly adapt my learning style to fit some very different subjects. Teaching a new student is no different than learning a new subject, as it is necessary to adapt one's teaching style and throw away preconceptions about how one should teach a subject. I hold a bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of California. During university, I tutored students ranging from kindergartners to high school seniors in Mathematics and Language Arts. Simultaneously, I was acting as a mentor for many high school students. I also had the opportunity and privilege to act as an undergraduate student instructor for my college's General Biology laboratory course. My tutoring specialties are Math, all levels of Mandarin Chinese, Chemistry, and Biology. I can help students taking AP-level courses in Chinese and Biology, too. In addition, I have had great success in preparing my students to score highly on a multitude of standardized tests, including the PSAT, MCAT, and SAT. I spend my free time reading, baking, and enjoying films.
