Teaching is my passion. I have been doing it for ten years, and my current position is at a fabulous project-based high school where my job is to integrate art and music into the array of classes I teach. I have a vast amount of experience teaching math, English, history, and SAT prep, and a number of other subjects. My specialty, no matter what subject I am teaching, is in motivating students. It is necessary that a student enjoys our tutoring sessions, or they will not really get anything out of it. That's why, at every success, I give praise. When I need to correct students' mistakes, I do so without judgment. Seeing that "aha" moment sparkle in my students' eyes as they finally understand something that has been eluding them - that is what I live for. It is priceless. My education has been based at UC Davis and the University of Phoenix. I can tutor in many math subjects, from elementary math through algebra 1. I also do well tutoring English subjects such as essay writing and editing, grammar, phonics, literature, and reading. I am available to tutor students over the summer, as well as during the school year.In my free time, I enjoy snowboarding, basketball, weight training, and cooking.
